Beth Hempton, Founder & Educational Director

Beth Hempton studied Studio Art at UT Austin and Graphic Design at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, where she earned a BFA in Design. Several years into her career as a graphic designer, Beth decided she’d rather share her love of art by teaching others. She then earned a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University and became a Visual Arts teacher at Lynnwood High School in Lynnwood, WA. After 11 years in Seattle, Beth has recently returned to her home state of Texas and found her niche in Austin’s creative community.

In addition to her role in The WonderCraft, Beth is the founder and Co-President of EtsyAustin, a team of local artists who sell their wares on Etsy.com. Beth also handcrafts a line of children's products called The Snuggle Herd. She has created a menagerie of animal characters based on her own illustrations, and turns them into one-of-a-kind, upcycled stuffed animals, appliqué designs for children’s clothing, ready-to-color greeting cards and art.
